Nikolsky&#8217;s sign is negative.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/deltadermpath.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/BP-Drug-Induced-S1016365b.jpg\" width=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/deltadermpath.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/S10-16365-BP2.jpg\" width=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/deltadermpath.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Bullous-Pemphigoid-C3.jpg\" width=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Diagnosis:\u00a0<\/strong>Bullous pemphigoid, likely drug-induced.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Histology:<\/strong>\u00a0Sections in this biopsy of peribullous skin did not show a subepidermal split but did show an infiltrate of eosinophils, consistent with the so-called &#8220;prebullous phase&#8221; of bullous pemphigoid.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Direct Immunofluorescence (DIF):<\/strong>\u00a0Direct immunofluorescence with C3 (shown above) demonstrated a linear-granular fluorescence at the basement membrane zone.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&lt;&lt; Back The patient is a 79 year old female who has multiple asymptomatic erythematous targetoid lesions on the chest, abdomen, and extremities, along with tense bullae.
